African Outback Ride
Many describe this region as the World’s Enduro Riding Paradise, where you can ride for days without seeing a fence or a gate, and the only civilisation is the local African people going about their daily routines. We will be riding in two distinctly different tribal regions with striking natural beauty.
Join us on this 8 Day tour (5 Days riding) that covers many diverse terrains from rugged coastal trails and rolling countryside, to winding hinterland mountain trails, with forested hills and creek crossings. You will experience continually changing and breathtaking scenery along the way, all while appreciating the African outback and the distinct feeling that we have left civilisation behind . Each day is different with stunning landscapes of rolling green hills dotted with thatched rondavels, offering interesting glimpses into a culture far removed from the stresses of modern life.
We will be frequenting high vantage points along the coastline with regular sightings of dolphins and whales. Humpback and Southern Right Whales migrate from the Antarctic to the shores of Africa to calve and are often seen from the coastal cliffs.
We use a local guide on this tour who has ridden in this region all his life and is extremely well skilled in shaping a ride to suit the rider experience level of the group. Our guide has numerous local and international Enduro accomplishments, so be prepared to receive many riding tips and secrets along the way.
We run this tour over 8 Days (7 Nights) with a rest day in the middle. Our overnight accommodation will include an ocean front lodge set on the rugged African coastline and hinterland cottages with views of the surrounding countryside. Single bookings may be in shared accommodation unless requested otherwise.

Difficulty Level: –
This tour caters for riders with at least a few years of enduro style riding experience. Each tour is tailored to the skill & experience of the group. “Breakout” routes are optional for those wanting to challenge their skills – or just to entertain the rest of the group. 🙂 :
- At least a few years intermediate level off road riding experience is recommended
- Everyone enjoys this tour, from Intermediate to Extreme rider
- 6 – 7 hours of riding per day is usual on this tour
- For riders 18 years and older
Expected Terrain: –
Approx. 5% Bitumen and 95% Dirt (Ranging from serviced roads to unserviced single trails and classic enduro style riding)
Conditions in this region are mostly great for riding, winters can be dry and will make for a little more dust than usual. Our spring rides are usually dust free after the seasonal rain in the region.
